Alchemy: The 4 Elements

Alchemy can be seen as a process that blends spirit and matter, bridging the worlds of concrete reality with the unconscious psyche.

In this workshop we will explore four alchemical operations along with their elemental analogs, and how we might utilize this symbolic system as a tool for insight and self-inquiry.

• Four alchemical operations: Calcinatio (fire), Solutio (water), Sublimatio (air), Coagulatio (earth)

• Jung and alchemy

• Symbolism and archetypal themes of each operation

• Mythological examples of the four operations
